The Bear Ate My Cookies

It all started with this story DH told O about bears coming into our house and eating chips while we are at school/ work.  At night DH has a little bag of chips, but he usually forgets to throw out the empty bag. O wakes up, Daddy, what’s this? What’s this, Daddy?  DH: The bears ate the chips.  Then it becomes a very complicated story, which is similar to Goldilocks and 3 Bears, but instead they try to sleep on our couch and find the perfect chip to eat.  They now also eat Prankie’s ball in the back yard. They also are in the car in my seat. They are also on O’s bed before she goes to bed.  They are trying to take over the house. She uses them as an excuse of why not to go bed (they are in her room playing, and making too much noise).  I told her that they are already asleep in their house. To which, she shakes her head, and says, Mommy, bears live in caves, not a house! That’s silly!  Sill, Mommy, indeed!  She is much too smart now to mislead her in information.

Last night, DH take an empty carton of milk and an empty box of cookies and leaves it on the floor for O to find.  We get home, and she looks at the empty stuff on the floor, and cooly identifies that the bear ate the cookies and drank the milk.  But the concern was that now there was no milk for O.  And after dinner, she was very concerned that she won’t get her cookie since the bears ate all of them.

But fortunately, the bears were on their way, back to their house cave.
