This morning I did probably the WORST thing I could do as a mom. Ok, maybe not that bad, but it’s pretty not good.
As we were getting ready to leave, O says to me. Mommy, I’m hungry. Oh sweety, we have to go. What do you want to eat? I want an omelet. We do not have time for that.
Here was the critical point. I could have given her a number of healthier choices as her morning snack. A Good Earth organic fruit bar, grapes, blueberries, a muffin, greek yogurt… I mean, I do try to stock up on good snacks. But being early, and I being flustered I gave her… I am ashamed to admit it… the little fried noodles that you get from Chinese restaurants with your soup. She of course LOVE it!! Becuause it fried, and crunchy and has absolutely NO nutriciounal value. When I realized my mistake and that I actually had healthier options, it was much too late. I tried to switch it out with a muffin, and she’s like, No. I like the chips.
At least it wasn’t cookies or doritos. It could have been much much worse. But still…what was I thinking?? I’ll make her a healthy omelet tomorrow!
