O 2.4.2

If you are a Mac user or have an iPhone, I hope you get the title.  Since O’s incident, she has become a new child. DH has explained as, you know when you have to force quit your computer.  And then when you restart it, it has reset itself??  Well O’s seizures were kind of like that.  She has become the new and improved O.

I am not sure how clear I have been on my woes with O and food. And the sad feeling I have when I spend half hour making something for her (that she has requested) only to be snubbed and told that only cackers will satisfy the two-year old tornado.  And worse, yes, the worse is, that she eats everything at day care, and it’s quite annoying to have my mom say on a regular basis, I don’t know what you are complaining about, she eats everything with me. Thanks, Mom. As always, very helpful.

It must have been the 5 days of no eating (from Monday when the stomach bug surfaced to Thursday afternoon after her MRI) that when she finally got home she was ravenous!  I mean, I haven’t seen this kid eat in front of me the way she has inhaling her food.  Let me explain:  on saturday I made Buttermilk pancakes (she ate 3, including taking one from my plate; I was left with two).  Then at 11 she asked for omelet. She even helped with whisking it.  She was really excited about it.  Getting distracted I even burnt the omelet a little bit. But she ate ALL OF IT.  There wasn’t any left for my mom. I had to make a separate one.

Whisking away!

For dinner she even ate a little bit of beef. For dinner on Sunday she ate 1 fish fillet (from the box… sorry people, I was tired. I couldn’t bring myself to make it from scratch), 4 tater tots, and I snuck in some peas.

She is now on a banana binge.  Which is good. So I have to make sure I stock up on bananas or ELSE!  And of course, grapes. Can’t live without grapes.  Still no on the veggies, but we are working on it.

At day care, Titi is concerned that she is eating too much. But considering the anorexic diet she was on previously, I think this is better. I will be asking her pediatrician to find out if it’s a side effect of the anti-seizure medication.

Then I feel like her vocabulary and her sentence structure has improved. She is making associations with things that will happen in the future and happened previously. For example. The other morning we were sitting on the couch watching the news, and she says. Daddy, you took shower.  I take bath later, after Titi house. Now  I’m no child developmental specialist, but I think that is pretty good.  I, of course, can’t think of any more examples.

However, the increased brainiac has also brought back the sleeping issues.  And they are back with a vengeance.  Her stubbornness has increased 10 fold along with her increased vocabulary.  I hope and pray that tonight, she will sleep through the night.  Because I NEED it!!
