Daycare Interview 3

AHHHHH!!!

I am sure you have been waiting on the update on the daycare situation with bated breath.  Well, we went to the last interview, and their hours were 8 to 6 pm.  And that is just not good for us.  And yes, usually O is at day care anywhere from 10-1/2 to 11 hours.  The place was nice, and the woman was nice, but it just wouldn’t work for us.

So now, what to do??  I was in panic. The next morning I spoke to Titi, the woman who is taking care of O right now, and she said she is taking two of the other girls at her house and watching them like a babysitter.  So we will be doing the same thing.  It’s temporary, and we will continue looking for other daycares.  But to be honest because she was older, I thought it wouldn’t be any problem finding a good daycare. When she was little with the law with only 2 infants (2 years and younger) per daycare, that was hard. But we were not expecting it to be so hard since she is older.

We also have an interview in two weeks at a Catholic school around the corner.  There is a waiting list, but it won’t hurt to look at it. And if not for daycare, then for preschool.

And the good part is that the transition to the new location won’t be hard on O because she knows the kids and the caretaker. The only thing I need to find out is how much TV they watch, and to possibly encourage the learning of shapes and colors.  I mean O knows lots of stuff, but I guess just to get to learn her colors better since everything right now is PINK.

I guess for now, we are set.  Sigh….
