No More Cats

When we had the BBQ in honor of my sister’s visit, we moved the cats in the neighbor’s yard.  But for some odd reason she asked if we can take them back at night because they were “out in the elements”.  It was not forecast to rain, so the elements would have been fine.

But let me start from the beginning.  In the morning when we first moved them to neighbor’s yard, my dad and DH did something, and somehow, the mama cat, picked up one of the kittens and ran away with it.  And was hiding on the side of our deck.  The rest of the kittens were moved to the neighbor’s yard.  Eventually the mama cat walked away from the kitten, and we picked him/her up and put him/her in the neighbor’s yard.

The Snausage dog was around too, sniffing, all over the place. I am sure the mama cat was not too comfortable with this.  But to be honest, the Snausage dog is not so smart, so she doesn’t have much to worry about.

Then at night, BBQ is over, and we start the procedure to move the kittens back in our yard.  As before, the mama cat grabs one of the kittens and hides under the neighbor’s deck.  But the remaining 4 kittens are back in their basket.  A few hours later, I go to check on them, and there are only TWO, that’s right TWO kittens, left in the basket.  The rest have disappeared. I checked the other side of the BBQ, thinking that since she took them there before they might be there now.  But no kittens.

The next morning, I check the basket again, and no cats.  It has been 1-1/2 weeks now.  We keep seeing the mama cat lounging in our yard.  We think the kittens are two yards down from us, but we are not sure.  Then last night, DH was outside and he saw the kittens and mama cat in the neighbor’s yard.  The kittens were getting jumping from yard to yard between the fence grades.  They were playing and being super cute.  But now, I don’t know what to do… We are not really friendly with the neighbors.  And the ones right next to us, I know they hate the cats…

And DH now does not want to get involved.
