Auntie Is so Far Away

I don’t know what families did before Skype, MSN Messenger, AIM, Google Chat, Yahoo, etc…  I mean, how did people keep in touch?  How did relatives see the kids grow up?

Phone?  HA!

Snail mail???  Puhlease!!!!!!

Every weekend, O has a Google Video Chat (better reception than Skype) with her Auntie in Europe.  O gets really excited when I plug the camera in the laptop, and she hears the ring on the Google Video Chat.  She screams when Auntie appears on the screen.  Talks to her and points to her.  I honestly think that she recognizes her when she sees her.  This weekend she even fed her Auntie grapes.  And her Auntie started showing her duck collection.  And O was very entertained by the quacking duck on the screen.

Her Auntie for being so far away has really been a part of O’s life, and she has seen O do some of the really cute stuff and the great milestones.  Like taking care of her baby, sharing, sitting in her cupboard, seen her walk, dance….

Thank God for Google Chat!!!
