What Makes O the Smartest Baby

  1. When washing her hands, she rubs them together.  And now, her latest thing, is to put her hands under the running water to rinse them. As well as pacifiers…. loves to clean them.
  2. You ask her to go sit down, and she goes to sit down either on her playmat or by the couch
  3. Can get down off the couch and our bed by herself.
  4. You tell her not to touch, and she starts discussing why she shouldn’t be touching and point at it.
  5. Tries to put her shoes and socks on by herself.
  6. Gives kisses and hugs when you ask her.
  7. Lifts her foot up one at a time to put or take her shoes off.
  8. If she has an object in her hand, she moves it from one hand to the other, as I try to put a sweater, onesie, jacket on.
  9. She figures out her toys pretty quickly
  10. When walking, if there is something that gets in her way, like shoes or toys, she gingerly walks around so she won’t lose her balance and fall
  11. When you ask her how old she is, she shows you 1 finger.
  12. She has learned to do High Five when you ask her.
  13. Loves to share… food, pacifiers from her own mouth, toys, containers… I guess this is why she is sick all the time.
  14. Because I love her so much, she is the SMARTEST BABY EVER!!!!

Thirtysomething mom of a baby girl. First and only baby, possibly. First baby amongst my close friends. These are the trials, frustrations and lessons I have learned in raising a single child in New York.
