Not quite stable

Even though the day care said that she took her first steps, I question it a little bit.  My new favorite thing (maybe a bit of a torture technique) is to put O standing by a) coffee table, b) by her crib, c) next to the kitchen cabinet handles and just walk away.  Although she is quite stable on her own two feet, she does not have the coordination to adjust her body weight from one foot to the other.  Or to take one hand off the object and then grab the next object she wants.  So pretty much she gets “frozen” in that place.  Until she takes the leap, and falls backwards on her bum.

And now what???

And now what???

But in all fairness, she is making great effort in walking.  Now I just hold her by one hand, and she manages to hold her balance.  She does do the little twirl, and ends up pirouetting on the floor face down.  She has been using her little walker (and yes, I know all the research that it’s bad for the development of the baby, but she loves the mobility) and her little hand held woodpecker push walker Now, she has managed to walk on her own using that thing.  Previously, I would hold her hands on it to make her walk.  But now, she is a big girl!!!!

Please note the fatty thighs in the picture.
