The 4th night was a success as well. This is the 3rd night that O has slept in her room by herself. She did try to come into the bed, but I blame DH more for that one. He fell asleep in front of the TV watching some sports channel so at 3:30 am when the informercials are in full swing, the volume was increased like 20 times. So both O and I woke up. Fortunately I was able to get O back in her bed with her puppy, and turn off the TV without causing any major damage to DH’s head who I wanted to hit with the remote control.
O did get mad at me this morning for not waking her up, which was one of her main concerns. But I do find that sleeping in her room has made her less cranky in the morning. Probably because she can get up at her own pace.
But I wanted to talk a bit more about O’s eating habits. I’m sure you’ve read my frustrations with her eating. But I don’t think I’ve been very fair to her. Yes, she takes HOURS to eat sometimes. In the last few months, she has become less picky about her food. She still loves rice and beans and chicken. But now we can give her all kinds of stuff that requires a bit more sophisticated pallet. The other day I made Smoked Salmon Chowder (and again, if I could figure out the Pinterest link, you could totally have seen what I am making for dinner!). And she ate it up. She even asked to taste the smoked Salmon before I put it in the chowder. She didn’t really like it, but she tried it. (Just a few pointers, if you decide to make the recipe, I used seafood stock and two potatoes and celery stalks instead of one. It was delicious, and I recommend making it.) I also made the Spinach Potato Soup, and again she ate it up. Overall she pretty adventurous with her food. DH wants to try her on sushi. She might be too young, but she could go with a California roll, that’s fun!
I just wish she would stop torturing us with how slowly she eats. Granted, she does have to talk between each bite, but still….
It’s good to eat slowly, better digestion, no?
Yes, that is true. But not when it takes like an hour to eat two pieces of beef. With lots of peepee, poopy, water breaks.
