Also known as ANIMALS! The trip to the zoo was by far the most successful trip to a zoo thus far, and we’ve been to several. And it’s not saying too much because every trip to a zoo ended in tears, and usually my tears. I still ended in tears, but at least there were no tears while at the zoo. The aminals cooperated.
The depressed polar bear was swimming and entertaining the kiddies. We saw him from every angle. O was interested in the sea lion feeding, so that was fun. But she was difficult. She would just run up ahead, and not listen. She wasn’t patient to wait for us to finish looking at the animals. Some of the ideas we came up with active toddlers. 1. An invisible fence, you know the type they have for dogs. If your toddler runs up too far, they get a gently zap reminder that they are too far away. 2. A GPS bracelet and an iPhone app. I’m sure this already exists, so if you know of one, please let me know. I am interested. Today everyone had the same idea we had… spending time at the zoo. It was packed, and she kept weaving in and around people. It would have been less stressful if she listened or if I knew where she was at all times. But I think we overstayed our happy time because 45 minutes later as we are home, O was in a bad mood. But now she is napping… and hopefully she will be in a much better mood.
